Kellie Martin, the American actress and filmmaker best known for her role as Christy Huddleston in the period drama 'Christy", Rebecca Thatcher on the drama about families Life Goes On> and Lucy Knight for the medical drama ER. Other notable roles include the title role of the Hailey Dean Mystery series. Martin was the daughter of a department-store purchaser and kindergarten teacher began her career acting at the age of seven when her aunt who worked as the nanny of Michael Landon's children was able to help Martin land a role in 1981's series "Father Murphy". When she completed her studies at Yale University in 1982, Martin took her acting career more seriously. She was able to land important roles in television and on the big screen. Martin, who is an actor as well as an accomplished dancer and photographer, has been in the industry for the past 20 years. Martin is the mom of two, and also the spokesperson of Lupus. Since her 19 year old sister's passing Martin has been working to spread awareness of the condition.
